Baptism at LifePoint
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change.

In baptism, we are representing our belief that we are made new and have new life through the death and resurrection of Jesus (Romans 6:4).
Baptism is not a requirement for salvation, since the thief on the cross who expressed faith in Christ was promised salvation even though he could not be baptized (Luke 23:39-43). Baptism is, however, a response from salvation. Jesus commands His disciples to be baptized (Matthew 28:19) as a demonstration of their decision to follow Him.
At LifePoint, we baptize by immersion for two reasons:
-
It follows the example of baptism that is set in the New Testament (Matthew 3:16-17; Acts 8:38).
-
It reflects the believer’s conscious decision to become a disciple of Jesus.
Even if you were sprinkled as an infant and have since made a conscious decision to follow Christ, we invite you to participate in believer’s baptism at LifePoint!
-
As soon as possible! We require anyone who is interested in baptism to talk with one of our pastors prior. Let us know you want to be baptized here, so we get the ball rolling!
